A Romantic Dartmoor winter wedding was chosen by Helen and Jonathan to avoid disappointment if the sun didn't shine! With that in mind, the Two Bridges Hotel, Dartmoor, Devon was chosen and proved to be the ideal location.

Helen said: "It was perfect as it had a great wintery feel with the open fires and beautiful scenery."

When it came to the colour scheme, the couple wanted elegant and classic, so chose four main colours that blended well together.

The bridesmaids, Anna Chapman (Jonathan's sister) and Julie Rogers, wore full-length black gowns from Coast at The House of Frazer in Plymouth

The bridegroom wore a navy suit from Jonathan Hawke and the best man, Pete Symons, and the groom's men all wore navy suits and pewter grey ties - which were the same colour as the ribbon on the cake and the place settings.

The bride wore an ivory dress from San Patrick at Se Marier in Exeter. The flowers were also in ivory. The bride had a large posy of roses with diamond pins in the middle of each rose and the bridesmaids had slightly smaller versions of the bouquet, but without the diamond pins.

The day was captured on video by Roger Underwood and the photographer was Rebecca Roundhill.

Helen said: "Rebecca captured the feel of the day perfectly. Our beautiful Devon wedding was very relaxed and full of laughter and that is evident in the pictures she took. She mixed in so well with all our guests and wasn't at all overbearing. She let the day flow as we wanted it to and she got some great shots."

Day of the wedding: 8am: My dad took me, my bridesmaids and my mum to TMA2 in Exeter to get our hair done. He arrived back at the salon about 30 minutes later with much-needed bacon sandwiches from Boston Tea Party!

11am: We arrived at Two Bridges Hotel and were shown to a beautiful honeymoon suite to get ready and to make sure I wasn't spotted by Jonathan who had also arrived. He was shown to a separate hotel bedroom on the opposite side of the hotel to get ready, after stopping at the bar, of course! they brew their own Ale in Princetown  'Jail Ale' which all the boys loved.

2:15pm: Our civil ceremony started 15 minutes late (a bride's prerogative!) with me walking down the aisle to Angel by Jack Johnson, which was picked for me by Jonathan.

After the civil ceremony we were lucky enough to be able to have photos taken outside; even though it was November, the weather held out for us and we had some stunning shots under Two Bridges Hotel Bridge by The River Dart.

4pm: We sat down to our three-course wedding breakfast. We wanted to continue the winter theme and so we used candles instead of flowers for our centrepieces. The food was amazing, the hotel staff very friendly and attentive.

tapley-sewell-37:30pm: The evening reception started with our first dance to Songbird by Eva Cassidy. Your Perfect Night from Exeter  provided the DJ and we were able to give them a list of 'must play' songs before the wedding which we knew would get our family and friends up dancing and it did the trick!

The dance floor was full all night. We even had an impromptu dance-off with girls versus boys ...the girls won of course! I loved my wedding day at Two Bridgesand would not change a thing!
